After the counterweight was finished, we built the frame that holds both the counterweight and the throwing arm. Again, you can see how the individual pieces are fitted, using mortise and tenon joints.  There are two pivots -– one for the swinging counterweight and one for the throwing arm. Both must work smoothly.
